Action and Sport Cameras
An action or sport camera is a digital, small, portable camcorder designed for photographing motion pictures that are protected against environmental influences, such as vibration, humidity, dust, or high or low temperatures. Most of the models on the market are smaller as a box of cigarettes and waterproofed so can be used under challenging weather conditions, at high wind speeds or even underwater. They are easy to attach to different objects and are therefore used, for example, by cyclists, skiers, surfers, parachuting jumpers, divers or extreme sportsmen, so that they have both hands free for the exercise of their activities during filming.
Action cameras consists mostly of a wide-angle, (fish-eye) fixed focal length lens, an image sensor, an image processing unit, a microphone, a data storage medium, and a voltage source, typically a rechargeable battery. This cameras are designed specially for sporty activities and can’t be compared to compact or DSLR cameras due to Application area. We strongly recommend to order at least one additional battery pack to extend the operating time.
